Maryland softball swept in four-game series against No. 22 Michigan

Maryland (11-17) struggled confronting Michigan in its weekend series, in Ann Arbor dropping all four games.
In game one on Friday afternoon, the Terps suffered a close iv-2 loss. Senior pitcher Jennifer Brann recorded the loss, struggling with control allowing six hits, 4 earned runs and didn't tape a strikeout.
Despite junior first baseman Regan Kerr's home run in the get-go inning, Maryland couldn't mount consistent pressure with just ii hits as a team. The other sole hit went to freshman pinch hitter Megan Mikami with a single and RBI.
Senior bullpen Meghan Beaubien was dominant on the mound for the Wolverines as she recorded six strikeouts only allowing one earned run in a complete game. The Wolverines picked up several big hits including two dwelling house runs and two doubles. Sophomore designated player Lauren Esman was iii-3 including a single, a double and a dwelling house run, nigh striking for the cycle. 5th year correct fielder Haley Hoogenraad went 2-iii with a single and a double, a RBI and scored a run.

Junior pitcher Alex Storako took command on the mound confronting Terp batters. Storako had a total of 11 strikeouts and no walks. To support Storako's constructive pitching, Michigan'south offense was able to produce two runs with a total of v hits.
Building on their success from the first two games, the Wolverines continued to curl in game three with a 5-ane victory. For Maryland, junior Haley Ellefson recorded but i strikeout, while the lineup yet struggled to solve Michigan pitching with just 3 hits.

Michigan was on burn with 12 hits, which included three home runs. Senior first baseman Lou Allen hit two balls over the argue, adding two RBIs and two runs scored to her record.
